ABOUT AMANDEEP
A GP for more than 18 years, Amandeep consults with patients at Bondi Doctors in Sydney, Australia. Alongside her clinical work, she’s a respected digital health and innovation expert and a thought leader.
Amandeep’s passion for medicine is matched by her enthusiasm for innovation, technology and business, and she loves exploring the ways all these can intersect to spark meaningful change. Amandeep didn’t start out intending to have such a diverse career. After entering general practice she got an opportunity to work with Medibank and then Telstra, using new technologies to help provide remote healthcare access in rural and remote communities via telehealth. That set the wheels in motion for a career path has been anything but ordinary.
Inspired, she went on to found a consulting company which focuses on wellbeing, technology, governance and innovation in the health sector. She has since cultivated a vocation of providing services to state and commonwealth governments as well as hospital groups, insurers, start-ups, health services, investors and businesses.
Amandeep’s quest to help every human take better control of their healthcare saw her collaborate with Medgate to set up a telehealth business in the Philippines, addressing poor access to healthcare in that country.
And her desire to improve the healthcare system also extends to helping clinicians have better experiences in the industry. She’s incredibly proud of Creative Careers in Medicine, an organisation she set up to help doctors enhance their career paths.
As well as a GP, Amandeep is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Australasian Institute of Digital Health, has a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and holds an Australia Certificate in Civil Aviation Medicine. She’s also a Certified Health Informatician of Australia. In 2017 she was awarded the Women Leading in Business Scholarship for the Global Executive MBA at the University of Sydney. In 2022 Amandeep was awarded the National Leadership Award at the University of Newcastle Alumni Excellence Awards.
